The Elusive Pet Conundrum

[Mood | Full]
I've been in the process of considering getting some sort of pet for the past few years. I was a one-time dog owner as a small child (which my parents got rid of once they found out that as a toddler I was allergic). I owned several hamsters (3 to be exact). I've owned fish (over a hundred guppies... they kept reproducing...). Other than that, I've never had any pets that I can actually remember (the first dog doesn't count, I don't even recall it).
My goal is to one day own a Welsh Corgi. Thanks to Twurtleson who sent me this picture of an adorable corgi which he dubbed "Woof Face" (he said I should name my future cat "Mew-Face" - what a weirdo).
Anyway, I would feel too bad leaving a puppy at home all day. Dogs need so much nurturing, they're basically having kids. Plus, corgis shed like whoa... I remember playing with a corgi at the hair salon and I got immediately covered in corgi fur. I don't think my apartment and my slight allergic-ness would appreciate the amount of fur a corgi leaves, but they're just so adorable that I'll have to deal with it. Oh future "Ein" (yes, I want to name my corgi Ein after Cowboy Bebop's Ein), I can't wait until you have a giant yard to run around in!
Since the whole dog situation is out of the question, I was thinking about getting a cat. I've always liked cats. They're clean, easy to take care of, and incredibly... well clever. At least, most cats are.
Is it sad that I want a cat that looks like Carlos Muffin here? (The cat in the bonnet on the left). He looks so pissed off that it's adorable. Persians shed a lot, so a Persian is probably out of the question, but cats are so much easier to take care of, I think it'd be nice to have a pet around. Living alone sucks, especially when your really good friends are back at home, and even if your other friends live in the city, they aren't around all the time.
So here is my pet conundrum -- what should I name my cat!? Of course, Twurtleson says that my cat should be aptly named "Mew Face" (no thank you, I prefer less stupid sounding names). I wanted to go with Chairman Meow, but that's a little weird, so I guess that's out of the question as well. What suggestions do you have for good cat names?
